To the massage therapists out there - are you able to bill insurance?

I am a licensed and nationally certified massage therapist who rents space in a chiropractor's office. I have been in the profession for 5 years full time. I was wondering if there are real opportunities out there to bill insurance companies for treatment that their members receive? I know some therapists are able to do this but so far I have only seen medical insurance companies that list you as a provider and then make you give a discount for your services. What are some of your experiences? I am in Mass. Thanks! :)To the massage therapists out there - are you able to bill insurance?
Yes there are opportunities in insurance billing. In almost every state you can bill car ins. companies for motor vehicle accidents that have injured people. You have to know what you are doing to make sure you get paid. It can be time consuming and a pain in the neck to work with insurance companies but once you learn the ropes you will almost be able to tell from the details of the case how difficult it will be to get paid so you can be discerning about what cases to take. If you live in FL or WA you can bill HMO's and PPO's
