Depends on the venue. Often, therapists working at high end spas work on a smaller scale commission, with the balance of their income coming from tips. Therapists working in smaller settings may be getting a higher base commission assuming their tips are not as substantial. If the massage is in a doctor's office, they may even have a no tip policy. In any case, I'm sure you'd be fine with with something around $10. If you want more assurance, call the place beforehand and ask what their tipping policy is. Don't be afraid to do so. As a therapist, tipping is one of the most often asked questions from my new clients. Same as spa - 15% - 20%. In your case $10 - $13 assuming service is acceptable, of course.
