Hi Angie,
I am a massage therapist in San Francisco and have been doing it for 6 years. It is a really rewarding career.
Most massage therapists go to trade schools, and the number of hours required varies from state to state in the US and some states have no minimum hour requirement.
You should get a copy of Massage Magazine. It has all of the requirements listed for each state in the back and it is a great magazine to start reading if you want to go into the massage industry.
I have a website that talks about massage as a career with a lot of helpful articles. It is http://www.alternativehealthbusiness.com鈥?/a> you should check out the articles. Good luck. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
