I keep hearing that the average working life as a massage therapists is only about 5 years?

How true is this? What is the impact on your body? Will this cause further problems in old age?I keep hearing that the average working life as a massage therapists is only about 5 years?
If you follow proper body mechanics, you will be able to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetative use injuries. I've only been doing it for 11/2 years. My friends have been doing it for 20 or more without problems.I keep hearing that the average working life as a massage therapists is only about 5 years?
The type work they do causes them to develop carpal tunnel quickly..Same with people who work on computers all day long.....
It's not true. I know people who have been practising therapists for years. In the case of one lady, almost twelve.
I have been in the business for over 34 years and am yet to develop any bad side effects from massage therapy.

The only problem I have is with the government trying to get a piece of my money without earning it.
I think this is probably true, but I don't think it's down to the effect it has on the body. I think it's because it's an attractive looking profession that lots of people go for thinking that it's a relatively easy way of earning good money.

After they have completed the training they realise it's hard work and not particularly rewarding, so after a short while they drop out and look for something else.
