On the cruises I have been on the spa is typically open until 5 pm. Most employees are allowed to get off at the destinations, however I'm not sure what the rules are for spa workers. I would imagine you would take turns or whatnot.
Also,
I hope you are highly qualified because I believe you need excellent references for a ship to even take a look at you.Massage therapists who have worked on a cruise ship?
My wife worked as a Spa Therapist for 4 years. Steiner Transocean runs Spas on 80% of cruiseships at sea.
General Conditions: You will have a shared room that is basic but comfortable. You will have a good chance to travel and see the world. You can volunteer for tours for free and you will have the chance to walk around in port with your friends.
Pay: Generally about US$3K per month+. It is commission based and very sales/target focussed. Therefore you can earn a lot more than $3K if you are a good seller.
Hours: You will work 6 days a week and will be scheduled for approx. 10 hours per day. The rotating shifts start from 8am to 10pm. It sounds like a lot and will take a lot of effort.
It is a great thing to do and most people come back for a second contract. Have fun and good luck.
